Trustee Georgeann Duberstein
When our grandson, Liam, was two, the tug on my heartstrings was so strong, I told my husband, George (isn’t that cute—George and Georgeann and we used to live in Georgia!), that I wanted to leave our dream home in the beautiful mountain forest of Colorado, looking at Pike’s Peak, to return home to the Chicago area. I promised George we would find a place with a nice view. Since 2002, we’ve been enjoying having Cranberry Lake in our backyard.
As in every community in which we’ve lived, my husband and I became active volunteers. Among other things, I have organized and continue to chair the Great Age Club for Hainesville seniors and the village-wide garage sale each summer. I created a 100-page plan and proposal for a 5-year restoration project for Cranberry Lake saving the village $70,000.
As an elected trustee, I chair the Wetlands, Open Space and Woodlands Committee to restore and beautify the village; I serve on the Finance Committee to reduce the financial burden experienced by all homeowners and insure fiscal responsibility; and I serve on the Community Relations Committee to improve communication between the board and our residents.
I’m presently retired, but my previous lives included: teaching, sales, business ownership, and being a physician assistant.
Please feel free to contact me with thoughts, suggestions or concerns.
