Trustee Kevin Barrett
I was born and raised in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, so living this close to my hometown and my family has always been a plus for my family. We moved to Hainesville in 1998 when we outgrew our old home with the birth of our second child , we were charmed with the small town atmosphere with all of the amenities needed for a young family close by.
I have been exposed to local government all of my life as both my parents were actively involved in local government in Wisconsin and I was taught you only get out of your community what you put into it, so after we settled in to our new home, I started meeting people actively involved in local government and 2 years later I took the plunge and ran for trustee, and was elected.
My family is all active in the community , whether it is baseball, football, girls softball travel teams, or my wife working for the Grayslake park district running various programs and pre-school classes.
My oldest is just starting high school this year at Central and her brother is going into the 8th grade at GMS this year.
I have the one of the neatest jobs in the transportation industry as I deal with shippers and receivers all over the world moving cargo for them with both steam ship lines, rail roads, and airplanes and trucks , and the flexibility of my schedule to be able to volunteer my time to the community as trustee.
My hobbies include Ham Radio , NHRA, and of course community service to try to make Hainesville a better place to live and raise a family.
