Mayor Linda Soto

My husband Ed and I moved to Hainesville in 1994. We were among the first of the new surge of residents brought in by the new housing development. I led a group of volunteers to get the first park built, now known as Antler Park. I became a Village Trustee and Police Commissioner in 1995 and won the 1997 Mayoral Election. I did not seek re-election in 2001 due to family obligations. I ran for Mayor again in 2009 and won, and most recently ran unopposed in 2013. We have two sons and a Golden Retriever.

I possess over 20 years’ experience in Business and Customer Service Management. Over the years I have served in numerous community volunteer positions and truly love our Village. I currently serve on both the Finance Committee and Land Use Committee for the Route 53/Route 120 Project, the Executive Board & Legislative Committee for the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) and the Strategic Long Range Planning Committee for School District #127.

I welcome you contacting me about any questions or ideas you may have in regards to our village. Please phone me at 847-223-2032 x11  or email me at
