About the Village Board

The Village is governed by a Board of Trustees which is composed of the Mayor, six Trustees, and Village Clerk. The Mayor and Trustees are elected at large on staggered four-year terms every two years. The Village Clerk is appointed by the Mayor with the concurrence of the Village Board.

Terms of Office

Trustees are elected to four year terms. Three of the six trustees are elected in April of each odd numbered year. The Village President is also elected to four year terms, every other odd numbered year. Should a trustee or Mayor vacate their office, the position shall be filled as prescribed in the Illinois Municipal Code.

Contacting the Village Board

The Village Board accepts comments from the public at Village Board meetings. Additionally correspondence directed to the village board is copied and forwarded to all board members.
